Casual House Party

Hola!

I'm back! I'm back! Loll.. I have just a little time to write. I've been down with flu, fever and cough. 3-in-1, the best. So I've been resting at home for 2 days this week and back to work yesterday. Still on minimal medication. The meds makes me sleepy so I try not to take them in the morning.

Places I Dine In #2

Hola!

Yeay! It's already September, the last month for quarter 3! Not sure why am I happy about it. Probably due to the "new-month-fresh-start" thingy I always have. I'm going to tell you about this place. Which all Subang-rians will be extra familiar with this place.

Lost

Hola!

Been slacking in writing since the past few days. Too little rest, work undone. Or maybe just the mood swings. I been thinking about everything. My head is full of thoughts, all jammed up.

The Weight of Give and Take

Holla!

Cheers to Monday. Been thinking about give and take. What's the weight of giving or taking should a person carry.

My dad used to tell me that it's more blessed to give than be given. Of course I never see the sense of it. I've always been amazed how he did it. And even doing it. How can he give so much but been given so little. Or that's how I 'see' it. He explained that he was never after earthly desires. He is after something that lasts even longer than after life. Probably this is how he can be casually generous.

It's pretty hard to measure how much weight can a person give, nor take. Compromise, they say. Some people give most of their lifetime. But then, there are people who takes from others and takes only. So unfair yes. But it's been awhile the world had turned unfair, no? Taking is fun. Taking without terms and condition is even more fun.

Yet, from dad's perspective, giving is fun too. It's true.. But I probably would need loads of meditation to reach his level. Every time I'm giving a little, it feels like people is sucking a huge chunk out. It's pretty tiring. Dad never really gave me a Part II lesson on "Where to replenish the 'giving'" but I think I'll figure that out soon.

Perhaps, I've been taking too much. Complaining about being given too much. Pfft. Taking can be scary too. Scared of not holding it on strong enough that it slips out.

If everybody wants to take more than they should, pity to those who had to do the other way round.

Just for fun (:

Live in the present, that gift is for the gifted
This what you came, this what you came for
You get what you buy, this what you paid for
So make sure the stars is what you aim for
Make mistakes though

I never worry, life is a journey
I just wanna enjoy the ride
What is the hurry? It's pretty early
It's ok, we'll take our time

Work Obsession, Good or Bad.

Holla!

Last day of July! Since I'll be busy for the whole August, might as well I spend a short while writing something. Heh.

Being obsessed with work. Good or bad? I say, it all depends on how you look at it.

It's good, when you know where you're going to with your work and you are working towards the result(s) your expecting when you first started. Because at the end of the day, you'll be the one to feel good about it. All the hard work you've poured in, will eventually paid off.

It's bad, when you're working in a demotivating environment. Probably places that you don't like that much, or with people/colleague you can't even have a simple conversation with. So, when you're obsessed with work at these kinda environment, you're literally forced to be obsessed with the workloads.

It's good, when you really really love what your doing, and at the same time you knew you're good at what you're doing. The latter reason would be a great bonus. A lot of people that I know doesn't realise what they really want to do with their lives. Hence I admire those who tells me they love their job and the effect they can emit with their work.

It's bad, when I see people are obsessed with their work just for the sack of a living. They just go with the flow, like ants. And they can get really absorbed in their work. These people will just get stuck in a spot forever.

I hope those who reads this will have a thought of it too. I know, you might be saying it's easy for me to say when I have thousands of mouths to feed at home. But...... think again. As late Steve Job once said

"Your work is going to fill a large part of your life, and the only way to be truly satisfied is to do what you believe is great work. And the only way to do great work is to love what you do. If you haven’t found it yet, keep looking. Don’t settle. As with all matters of the heart, you’ll know when you find it."

At the meantime, stay crazy!

My life, your life
Don't cross them lines
What you like, what I like
Why can't we both be right?
Attacking, defending
Until there's nothing left worth winning
Your pride and my pride
Don't waste my time

Catching Up

Holla!

Mid June and fasting month for the Muslims started. Something that I would like to get out of my chest - I'm feeling better. Seriously, better. I'm physically recharged and mentally relaxed. Feel like I'm becoming more of myself now.

When I was in a mess, I knew about it yet I chose to ignore it. Oh well.. I'm glad that everything is turning out good. For real this time. So, time to have some fun like I used to. (:

And oh oh! Have you guys seen my new hair colour?! Heh! It's fading do ombré brown but I still love it. Giving it a rest now as I noticed lots of my bleached hair breaks pretty easy. So, what's the next colour? *yeay* :D

Be back soon!

If you're looking for love
Know that love don't live here anymore
He left with my heart
They both walked through that door without me
If you're trying to find pity well, you need to look somewhere else
'Cause I surely can't help you
I'm hurting myself
I've turned into someone else

I used to believe love conquered all
'Cause that's what I've seen in movies
Come to find out it's not like that at all
You see real life's much different

Books and Thoughts.

Holla!

One of my *ehem* resolution this year is actually to read more. Let's say a book per month. LOL. I know it sounds sad and lazy but I wouldn't set a high expectation due to my workloads. But this month was a time for me to chill and spend time for myself. So I did read some.

Coincidently most of my books are about the author's story with their canine companions. I love most of the stories, probably because they are all real life stories. Some made me teared a little. Heh. I wish I could write like them. Rich with expressions and funny sentences.

Room by Emma Donoghoe was really nice. The way she slips into a little boy's mind and describe his daily routine was so fascinating. Everything in the room was named perfectly well and I love how the little boy was trying to get used to his surroundings. Great book.

Til then, stay put.

Odd Eats

Holla!

There are a lot of new restaurants booming here and there in KL and it's nice to see new food and desserts everywhere. Just to lay out a few of the places that I would back back again for certain food.

#1. Black Squid Ink Rice with Omelette (hope I got the name right) from Franco. But the best thing I love is their dessert. It's green tea something and needs at least 20 mins to prepare. Trust me, it's worth the time.

#2. SEED Cafe. I love the refreshing juice, Seed de Menthe! And I can't remember what's the name of the food =___=

#3. After Black. Cozy place to hangout. Maybe it's because I was sitting was back towards the end so I don't feel the noises that much. Hah. But the food and place were nice.

Be back soon! x

Post Laparotomy Days

Holla!

It's been three week since my surgery, coming four to be exact. I became bored at week three, and started going out for short walks or dinner after that. Now I have no problem going out shopping but still need to stop and rest whenever I can. Heh.

Sounds fun. Well it does, during the day. But at night it's not much better. It's either waking up a few times or not sleeping for few hours. I couldn't shut down at night, mentally while physically awake in the morning. Geez.

Today and yesterday was much better. Managed to sleep much better than before. Woke up at 5am today, but it's  still good. (:

Seriously I don't know how did I managed to get through the nights. With cautious turnings on the bed, waking up to pee, even trying to stand up after laying on the bed for quite a while. Each of my meals had been cut off to half the portion, limited clothes to wear due to the wound site (basically just three) walking like a turtle. Maybe my walks are comparable to a young turtle.

I just wish now that these days will soon disappear and I would resume my usual life again. Not that I'm not grateful I got rid of the pain, but.... I guess I just want more.

Ovarian Cyst Removal

Holla!

Some of you might know in detail about what happened to me last week. For some, sorry for keeping you guys worried. I figured this is one of my very unforgettable happenings in my life and I would like all ladies especially to pay attention to this.

As my title stated, I had a cyst, growing inside of me -without knowing it. "Pfft... How could this happen to me, right?" But it did. In fact, it can happen to you, your BFF, anyone, literally. Don't be that surprised.

From Wikipedia, "An ovarian cyst is any collection of fluid, surrounded by a very thin wall, within an ovary." If you guys wants to visualize these words, just refer to the first picture above. THAT'S A CYST

Last month, I was really busy. Seriously. But again, since when I'm free and easy since 2015, right? Last month was a little different. I felt slight pain at my left abdomen (or in general, stomach. LOL..everything is so scientific to me now) right after I ate some desserts. No proper meal due to pre-CNY work. And I thought it was normal and it would go away. I thought.

Well I thought wrong.

The pain went on and off for the past few weeks before Chinese New Year and I ignored it over and over. During CNY, it was obvious that my tummy was growing. I thought it was funny cause my tummy looked like a watermelon. Haha. Oh, I slept a lot during the holiday season too. Like, hibernating-kinda-a-lot.

"Must be those yummy-juicy food I had day and night."

A day after I was back to work, the pain came back. However, it was severe at night. My plan was to go to the clinic the next day. Good plan.

Midnight struck and the pain was at level 6/10. Shyt. Went to the clinic and the doctor said it was air plus constipation. I doubted for a sec cause I took a glass of fibre days ago to make sure my motions are passed out well. But then, who's the doctor here.

Had a jab of pain killer, went home, took the meds before heading to bed. Tired as hell. Couldn't sleep all night until 4am - first throw up.

6am - second throw up.

Obviously the meds weren't working. Damn. At that point, my pain level increased to 7/10. Still, I waited 'til it was 8am, and texted my boss at work. I couldn't drive and had to wait for my colleagues to pick up me to the hospital.

12pm - Did ultrasound after doctor's consultation and then he said there's a cyst - a HUGE cyst. I didn't listen to him as my pain level was up to 9/10. I requested for pain killers. Like a drug addict.

Pain killers

Pain killers

Pain killers!

The O&G specialist said surgery had to be done on the same day. The cyst was huge and twisted with my Fallopian tube hence the severe pain. I said yes to everything as long as I have pain killers for 24/7. You guys don't have to imagine how huge is my cyst. It's on my #2 picture above. :)

From the doctor's words before it was removed "It's as huge as a fully formed baby's head". Geez. SI much for thinking it's a watermelon. Hah.

I had laparotomy. Laparotomy are usually performed when cysts are much bigger (any cyst >6cm) than normal size which might be cancerous. Thank God mine was benign.

It can happen to any ladies. So my advice, go for the ultrasound. At least once a year just to make sure. No harm anyway. Guys, get your ladies for a check up too.

Take care and stay healthy!

I'm on the way to full recovery! Still walking like a turtle but...almost there! ;)

How 2014 Ends

Holla!!

For those who doesn't know, I'm from Sabah - Borneo of Malaysia. I've been living in KL for 3 years now (approx. 4). Feels like forever. People do ask if I ever go back to Sabah for good. Well... I don't think so (but I'll keep my options open).

My life have been a so-called-roller-coaster life. So much had happen that I sometimes just can't figure out how did I manage myself being in Kuala Lumpur for this long. Without relatives or family with me.

But I'll share what Kuala Lumpur has taught me within these few years. Hands up if you feel the same way too, okay? Okay.

#1. Kuala Lumpur is crazy.

I'm not sure how crazy are you staying in this huge city despite all the politics, rallies, rapes, kidnappings, road bullies but I WENT BANANAS! When I first got my car back in 2012, I tell myself I'll drive as nice as possible, just be normal. Geez, if only all drivers are Jesus! I've never been feeling as good as shyt when I honk at reckless drivers or swear at them as if they can hear every single beeped word I shouted out. LOLL! That poor motorbike guy. Okay now I'll apologize.

I thank God and people who have been praying for my safety in KL. It may sound easy but especially for my parents, I know that they are constantly worried about me being alone here. My dad would call and said he read in the news that some dude fell into a pit hole in Germany or tsunami in Thailand and tells me to be careful. Oh my... I didn't know I'm all over the world. But yeah, I'm taking every precautions to keep myself safe too. Even when I forgot to lock my car, I'll double check if there's any crazy dude hiding in my boot. XD

And I don't even want to get started with the food here!

#2. Kuala Lumpur taught me to be a lone ranger.

Regardless you have a car accident or a car breakdown or you're too dead to see a doctor, at the end of they day, you are THE ONLY ONE who could rise up and move on with your life. You may get sympathy from people but there's no help given of you don't help yourself at the first place.

KL is so selfish that I learnt to rather scratch my own scars than to have people scarring it even deeper than it already is. From simple things e.g. picking furnitures to picking clothes in H&M to getting workloads done at work or asking help from people. All by your own decisions.

The reason is, people will always say the good things about you, things that you want to hear. But the ugly truth is never known until you reflect on your freaking life by the end of the year and say F*CK.

P E O P L E  A R E   J U S T  T H A T  C O M P L I C A T E D .

#3. Kuala Lumpur changes your appearance.

It's funny but yet it's really true. Haha! All my life, I have been a loose-tee-boot-cut-jeans kinda girl. I've never been bothered to dress for occasions or to pick a casual wear for an hour. Meh. But staying in KL...*pergh* Everything IS about appearance! I learnt to be more alert on fashion styles, upcoming season's collection, looking at people's weird outfit (and laughs at my owns). Sephora, ZARA, H&M, Benefits, Burberry, Prada sounds so good to my ears.

But so far my life changing appearance queen goes to my BRACES. Haha! It changes my look a lot. But still look like a man (blame my dad for giving me such huge nose)

If I've been in Sabah now, I wouldn't be good to myself. I wouldn't get the quote of "treating yourself better". I'd still be the same ol' kampung girl living a dull life.

(But you will be lucky to have a couple of friends who are willing to go through all these sh*t with you. And I'm glad I do have!)

Elemental Beauties with Fellow Bloggers - Water Themed

Hola!!!

November has arrived! And so I brought myself back to blogging too. Been busy with my new job and workloads and catching up with friends. Heh.

Anyway, this post is actually a little project initiated by Syaza from HERE. Sorry I was really busy with work and some personal issue so I delayed this post for 2 weeks >.< This project is called Elemental Beauties which includes Fire, Metal, Water, Earth and Wind. So I was hoping to do a Water-themed related beauty post and I'm not sure about this but I think Syaza read my mind and assigned me Water theme! Haha! Thank you lovely pie!

My initial plan was to do a nail art but after second thought, I switched to a simple and daily Water-themed make up. Water to me is very blendable. Depending on how and what you want it to be, it will be. It's just like what late Bruce Lee said,

“You must be shapeless, formless, like water. When you pour water in a cup, it becomes the cup. When you pour water in a bottle, it becomes the bottle. When you pour water in a teapot, it becomes the teapot. Water can drip and it can crash. Become like water my friend.”

Below are the products I used for this make up.

1. Sephora Collection Eye Shadow Palette
2. Bourjois Smokey Eyes
3. Egyption Magic Cream
4. Sephora Mini Make Up Palette Bag
5. Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer Potion
6. Benefit High Beam Highlighter
7. Benefit The Porefessional
8. Benefit Bad Gal Lash
9. NXY Glam Liner in Glam Azure
10. Too Faced Jingle All The Way Palette

So here are my results!

Well, how do I look? Apart from using Bourjois Smokey Eye for my upper eyelid, for my lower part I used the same sheer silver from Bourjois as well as a sheer Teal colour towards the end and blend it up towards my dark blue. The I topped it up with NYX eye liner to stress the look even more.

I decided on this look after loads of googling from the internet and came up with this. Those from the internet are really awesome but it wasn't suitable for a daily wear. So I toned down the level to this. At least it's wearable either for a night out or a wedding or any special occasion without going too BOOMZ, you know. Hahaha!

Apart from me, you can also read up other blogger's post for the rest of the Elemental themes! Links are as provided below! :)

Luce - FIRE
Tiff - WIND
Miriam - EARTH
Syaza (Project Initiator) - METAL

That's all for now, see you soon!

Beauty Issue #7 - Miss Hana Lip Balm Crayon by Natta Cosme

Holla!!

I'm into lip beauty products lately as it's very convenient for a lazy person to put on make ups. Just a lip balm will do the magic! This time round, Natta Cosme sent me two samples of Miss Hana Natural-Born Lip Balm Crayon to try on! When I opened the box, I looked at the lip balms and thought "It really do look like crayons!" LOL WTM. Natta Cosme even sent a small pack of Faber-Castell crayons to write a message on a postcard (which I'll be sending it back to them). Cutie!

So these are the two lip balm crayons - Moulin Rouge Diva and Purple Sakura Season. The first one is more towards coral colour while the latter is a pinkish colour. Very girly and attractive packaging. You can even buy it as a gift for your closed ones.

My verdict is these lip balms are very moisturising to the lips. I purposely applied it on my cracked lips when I tried the Moulin Rouge Diva and I found my lips looked better after a while. I've always love coral-ish lipsticks/balms and thanks to Natta Cosme for sending me such gorgeous colours! Not really a pink fan but I kinda love this Purple Sakura Season on my lips. Heh. Looks soft and I had been using this colour whenever my outfits are towards soft and girly type too. Oh! And they smell really good too! Such a pleasant smell to put on my lips when I don't have any mint with me!

One thing I would advise girls is if you're going to a beach or somewhere windy, this won't be suitable as the balm might be kissing your hair too much due to the moisturising feature. Indoors, date night in a fancy restaurant or hangouts at cafes will be fine. Who likes being seen "eating" hair, right?

So, if you girls are going to purchase these cutie lipbalms, don't forget to include the coupon code MHSHARP to get a free sharpener! Promotion ends on 15/10/2014! Grab yours today! Happy shopping girls! Visit their store with the links provided below!

Million thanks to Natta Cosme for the samples again! *hugs and kisses*
